MASTERY

Mastery takes time. Only masters endure till the end. Riding 'Okada' in my area is a task for the brave. With Fuel Tankers as your road competitors and a road under construction to manage, due accolade should be given to smart Okada riders. Shocked? Don't be. Here's the full gist. I went to buy fuel some days back and as my routine is, I boarded a bike to make my journey easier and faster. On the way to the Filling Station, I couldn't help but wonder at the intelligence of the man who rode the bike. As usual, there were fuel tankers everywhere on the road and everyone struggling for a space to pass. At a point we were stuck, should we go forward or backwards was the question. In a nick of time, as if this man carefully planned his next move, he went forward and manoeuvred his way to my destination. Wow, I was amazed. We had a similar experience on our way back too. Mastery takes time and consistent practice. I've known this man for a while and it was obvious he...

FORGE AHEAD

FORGE AHEAD Fear is a mirage! Starting a new task can be daunting, especially when it's something you're unfamiliar with. If you're like me, a lot of 'what ifs' will rampage your mind leaving you confused of what exactly you need to do. The truth however is, 'what ifs' are time and energy wasters. Russell Brunson, founder of Click Funnels said something profound in one of his books. He shared how he was running into bankruptcy one time and he was so scared. What did he do differently? He came to the realization that fear does nothing good, so he thought about the worse thing that could happen if he eventually ended up penny less and guess what? He realized that the situation wasn't so bad afterall. Champ, you're about to start something new and you're scared of what can happen. Sit down and think about the worse thing that could happen, then you'd realize that the task isn't so bad afterall. Don't let fear stop you. Ride on fear. Le...

DISGUISE

DISGUISE No matter how you try to conceal the truth, the real you will always reveal itself. It's only a matter of time. One prevalent mishap in today's world is the ability to possess good intentions and despise process. How is it possible? Let's use an example. Everyone desires success and the good things and privileges of life, however, despite the good intentions, some persons despise the process required. This is why fraud and crimes are on the high. Everyone into Yahoo, fraud and unspeakable things are there because they desire to be rich and successful. All this is to say that, you focus shouldn't only be on having good intentions, you must learn to love process too, regardless of how tough it may be. A man who steals to feed his family may have good intentions, however, his process is wrong. The family he stole from will be in agony while his will be temporarily happy. You can't cheat, insult, harass and abuse others simply because you have a big goal. As ...

GENEROSITY

GENEROSITY Sharing is caring The above word is mostly associated with money, and while that's very true, that's not all there is to generosity. Do you know you can be generous with your compliments? No, I don't mean flattery. I don't think you should flatter people. I mean genuine compliments. You meet your fellow sister dressed beautifully, dish out compliments. Or, let's say, you peer performed better in a task or activity, instead of harbouring jealousy, why not congratulate and compliment that person? Something as little as, "your dress is pretty" can completely turn someone's bad day to a good day. If you only knew the things people go through and how just one word can help them, I don't think you'd still refrain from generosity. Don't hoard compliments when it doesn't even cost anything to give. Your value and worth does not reduce by acknowledging the beauty, excellence and difference of others. Infact, giving compliments incre...

SCARCITY

SCARCITY There's something about that word. There's currently fuel scarcity, and you see, fuel is an important commodity, it is used every single day. Whether you like it or not, as far as this is something you need, you'll go all out to get it. This scarcity has done two things: 1. Increase the value of fuel and this reflects in the price increment. 2. Increase in the price of services using petrol e.g transportation. Man by nature has unlimited wants but the resources needed to satisfy these wants are limited. This is the reason why we would naturally go/pay for things that are scarce. For example, if you want to buy a shoe or bag and the seller shows you one that's limited in supply, that's the one you'd buy. There's this joy that comes from being one of the few persons to possess a thing. What's the lesson here? 📌Don't be too available! Being too available causes what Nigerians call 'see finish'. It's actually more serious than you...
