SCARCITY
![]() |
There's something about that word.
There's currently fuel scarcity, and you see, fuel is an important commodity, it is used every single day. Whether you like it or not, as far as this is something you need, you'll go all out to get it.
This scarcity has done two things:
1. Increase the value of fuel and this reflects in the price increment.
2. Increase in the price of services using petrol e.g transportation.
Man by nature has unlimited wants but the resources needed to satisfy these wants are limited. This is the reason why we would naturally go/pay for things that are scarce.
For example, if you want to buy a shoe or bag and the seller shows you one that's limited in supply, that's the one you'd buy.
There's this joy that comes from being one of the few persons to possess a thing.
What's the lesson here?
📌Don't be too available!
Being too available causes what Nigerians call 'see finish'. It's actually more serious than you think. You begin to lose value in people's eyes unknowingly. It just happens and it's how things are designed to be.
This is a principle that's applied in marketing too. Scarcity highlights your product's/service's value in the eyes of potential customers.

Back to my message.
I've been thinking about this for a while now, then I realized the gravity of it.
It doesn't matter the amount of value you're offering, if your services is to 'everyone and anyone', you'll lose value quickly.
Another angle: if 'everybody' can access you 'everytime', you'll lose respect. Sometimes, intentionally withdraw.
In all things, Wisdom is profitable to direct. Get wisdom and in all thy getting, get understanding.
And yeah, true wisdom comes from God.
